Green Halloween
"You were once a yellow pumpkin
sitting on a sturdy vine,
Now you are a Jack-o'-lantern,
let your little light shine."
Here at Sarah's Silks we love celebrating festivals! Halloween is a fun one that can be spent doing activities all month that are out in nature and nurturing for young children.
Wonderful ideas for a green, earth-friendly Halloween include pumpkin patch visits, followed by pumpkin carving and baking and eating pumpkin treats. Long walks gathering fall leaves and acorns. Baking bread, making candles, sitting by the fire, and of course, dressing up!
Playsilks are one of the best, most creative tools for making your own costume. We've seen children use them to become ghosts, witches, genies, flying machines, almost anything you can imagine can be created (with a bit of added magic) with a special colored Playsilk.
Adding Face Paint makes even more characters possible - think tiger stripes on cheeks paired with a tiger Playsilk.
Trick-or-treat baskets are another great earth-friendly way to stay away from plastics. Baskets are beautiful and will be used over and over in many ways.

Sarah
My granddaughter and I love to move and dance with our scarves. One of our favorite fall scarf songs is by Stephanie Leavell – Blowing In The Wind. 🧡

Our child love wearing their Sarah’s Silks bunny ears and bunny tail from last Easter! We would love to win these animals/animal playsilks for them.

While we used to mainly use play silks for peekaboo & as landscapes, my sons have started to love using them for dress up. They love to wear them as capes to ride their rocking horses like they’re knights & the butterfly wings we have are a favorite.

My boy’s favorite costumes have always been made from play silks. And now that this year is my little girl’s first halloween (after 7 boys) we are really looking forward to some different possibilities.

These are some of our very favorite open-ended toys.

My daughter’s birthday is on Halloween, so I’ve been collecting Sarah’s silks for costumes and creative play for years. I dress up with her, and we have the best time exploring our imaginations with Sarah’s Silks, so much so that I encourage all of our friends to explore with silks as well! Thanks Sarah!!

My daughter uses the playsilks during this time of year to pretend she is making potions in a cauldron and ties them up into “crystals”, “leaves”, etc.

Would love this! 💗

Last week I brought my daughter’s silk collection to the homeschool class I lead for 4yos.
We were reading about butterflies and metamorphosis. The children wrapped up in a silk as their chrysalis, tried to wriggle out without using their hands, and then danced around with their silks as wings.
Wonderful costumes for nurturing imagination?

We absolutely love using Sarah Silks and our creativity to make dress up outfits! Last autumn we used a white silk with a stretchy dress up band from Sarah’s silks as a beard to dress up as Thumbkin the gnome from Wondergarten! Along with a red paper cone hat, a blue outfit and a belt! Since Thumbkin loves his merry mushrooms we also added the wooden mushrooms and bolga basket with a green playsilk for moss all of which we had from an Easter basket one year! An absolutely delightful and imaginative dress up of a beloved character!

Love Sarah’s Playsilks! My child loves dressing up. We were butterflies for a fairy festival and all kinds of fun costumes for Halloween that can be used all year round. My child is very sensory seeking and they reach for Sarah’s products before anything else. So happy with our collection
